TWI Global based at Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge have a small plane at the front of the building showcasing early work based on their technology. The plane needed a refresh, for which vinyl graphics were perfect!
The Project
TWI Global is one of the foremost independent research and technology organisations in the world. Part of their operation is to supply technical advice and consultancy for the aerospace industry, represented by a small plane in front of their building in Granta Park.
They approached Footprint Signs & Graphics to complete the new landscaping work by refreshing their plane. The existing graphics had been in place for several years and were sun damaged and weathered to the point the plane was looking rather sad.
Services Required
- Cut vinyl graphics
- Design
- Graphics printing
- Deep clean and prep
- Installation on curved exterior panels
How We Did It
We stripped the old graphics and replaced them with new so the plane could once again look like a positive advert for the client.
First, we took detailed imagery so the design could match the original graphics. Next, the design files were created so that new graphics could be made and printed to match the curves of the plane.
The old vinyl was carefully stripped off and surfaces all cleaned and prepped ready for the new graphics to be applied.
These graphics were then installed by the Footprint team, giving the plane a much improved look and adding to the whole setting at the entrance to the building.
The Effect
Once installed the plane once again became a stunning centrepiece of the TWI Global building. The graphics refreshed a once weathered and tired-looking feature.
